APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) - Part 1

Course overview:  

The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program is recognized worldwide as the standard in production and inventory control, a critical function within an organization for reducing costs and achieving a competitive edge. The CPIM designation is earned by successfully completing two exams demonstrating competency in production and inventory management.

Through the CPIM preparation and exam process, you will gain knowledge, learn skills and best practices required to execute, control and improve internal operations within the four walls  of your company.

The CPIM Programme is split into two parts. CPIM Part 1 is a 4-day programme and covers the first module: Basics of Supply Chain Management. CPIM Part 2 is an 8-day programme and covers the next 4 modules which are: Strategic Management of Resources (SMR); Master Planning of Resources (MPR); Detailed Scheduling and Planning (DSP); and Execution and Control of Operations (ECO).

APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management Part 1 (Basics of Supply Chain Management) is suitable to those who work in a supply chain planning environment or require a fuller understanding of management and planning regarding demand, procurement, supplier and materials requirement.
A recognised subject within its own right, this course is also one of the core modules in the APICS CPIM programme and is ideal for those who wish to gain CPIM in bite-sized pieces.

Certification:   

The APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) programme focusses on an organisation’s internal operations taking an in-depth look at the production and inventory activities within the internal operations of a company providing a comprehensive view of materials management, master scheduling, forecasting, production planning and much more. To date, over 100,000+ professionals are CPIM certified.

To earn the APICS CPIM designation, operations management professionals must successfully pass the CPIM Part 1 and Part 2 exams. However CPIM part 1 and part 2 can be taken in isolation if the full APICS CPIM designation is not required.
