IATF have approved the update to the IATF Rules for Achieving and Maintaining IATF Recognition. These changes will be published as the “Rules for achieving and maintaining IATF recognition”, 6th Edition. The Rules 6th Edition will be available for purchase by 31 March 2024. Whilst primarily aimed at Certification Bodies, certified organizations are encouraged to purchase a copy of the IATF Rules 6th Edition. There are changes to requirements in the IATF Rules 6th Edition which impact organizations certified to IATF 16949.

IATF Rules 6th Edition becomes effective from 1 January 2025 at which time IATF Rules 5th Edition and all IATF Rules 5th Edition Sanctioned Interpretations and Frequently Asked Questions become obsolete.
